November hosts two major events for the investor ecosystem.

The month of November has hosted two of the most important events for the investor ecosystem in Spain. On one hand, there was the Fi Gathering Madrid, co-organized by the Social Nest Foundation, the Impact Bridge-IE Chair of Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment, and the IE Center for Families in Business. On the other hand, there was the BIGBAN Investors Congress 2022, held in Valencia, which for two days served as the meeting point for Business Angels, entrepreneurs, Family Offices, Corporates, and VC’s to create synergies, promote the creation of sustainable and innovative companies, share trends, promote new models of open innovation, and attract foreign capital. Both events featured the participation of Iker Marcaide, founder and president of Zubi Group.

Fi Gathering Madrid

“On November 22, Zubi Group actively participated in an inspiring gathering of Family Offices, Foundations, and other asset owners, where the importance of mobilizing capital towards impact investment was discussed to transform the economy and contribute to building a more sustainable future for all.

The morning was organized around various panels of great interest and relevance. First, Rachida Justo, Associate Professor & IB-IE Chair of Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investing, provided a clarifying introduction on how to transition from being a sustainability investor to an impact investor. This intervention prominently featured the report ‘ESG Is Not Impact Investing and Impact Investing Is Not ESG,‘ recently published in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, which has already become a key reference in impact investing.

Following that, there was a panel on how to invest across the entire capital continuum while incorporating impact. It was an enlightening session summarized in the following diagram:”

Finally, after several examples of impactful investment opportunities with a strong track record, in the last session, participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the journey towards impact investing from several families, including that of the president and founder of Zubi Group, Iker Marcaide.

BIGBAN Investors Congress 2022

November brings together the key figures of the investment ecosystem in Valencia at the BIGBAN Investors Congress 2022. Zubi Group did not miss the opportunity to join Business Angels, entrepreneurs, Family Offices, Corporates, and VC’s with the aim of creating synergies, promoting the creation of sustainable and innovative businesses, sharing trends, promoting new models of open innovation, and attracting foreign capital.

Both Marta Zárate, Head of Investor Relations & Business Development, and Carlos Martín de San Pablo, CEO, as well as Iker Marcaide, Founder & Executive Chairman of the group, actively participated, exchanging valuable opinions and experiences with the rest of the attendees.

The eighth edition of the congress brought together more than 300 investors and 20 speakers, with the presence of Francisco Polo, High Commissioner for Spain Entrepreneurial Nation, who briefly summarized the most significant improvements brought by the new Startup Law for both the Investor Community and entrepreneurs. For example, the increase in the deduction for investment in new start-up companies from 30% to 50%, as well as the basis on which it applies, from €60,000 to €100,000, or the exemption for stock options, from €12,000 to €50,000 annual in-kind remuneration.
