Christmas baskets: Renewing traditions with an inspirational purpose

On the eve of the holiday season, the festive spirit permeates every corner and creates an atmosphere of anticipation and joy. It is in this special context that the iconic tradition of Christmas baskets arises, a unique and endearing way to celebrate the season.

Christmas baskets represent symbols that transcend the material, becoming a manifestation of the values and connection we share as a community. It is a genuine way of transmitting the affection and fundamental principles of the group to those with whom we work day in and day out.

Once again, at Zubi Group we have joined this tradition to intertwine it with our purpose of solving social and environmental challenges to achieve a better future.

We understand that the holidays are not just about exchanging gifts, but about strengthening the ties that bind us together as a team and community. That’s why our holiday baskets are an expression of our commitment to deeper values and an opportunity to extend our positive impact.

Each product selected in our baskets reflects our commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices. We opt for fair trade and organic foods as a conscious act to contribute to wider communities and preserve the environment.

But there is something more. At Zubi we offer the opportunity to go beyond tradition. How? Simply by renouncing it and channeling those funds to two specific causes: the collection of plastics from our oceans through Gravity Wave and the support of women and girls to eradicate child marriage with Save the Children.

Against the plastic tide: Our contribution to clean up the Mediterranean Sea

Plastic has flooded our daily lives. In just a few decades it has become ubiquitous in all kinds of objects and materials due to its characteristics (flexibility, durability and lightness) and low price. We can find it in product packaging, in cosmetic ingredients, in clothing textiles, in construction materials and in a multitude of utensils and objects.

Like its production, the increase in plastic waste has increased dramatically. As a result of poor waste management or abandonment, some 13 million tons of plastics end up in the seas and oceans annually, making up 60-80% of marine litter, mostly in the form of microplastics.

It should be noted that thanks to the donation of our baskets, we have contributed to the collection of 126 kg of plastics from the Mediterranean Sea through Gravity Wave.

Educate to transform: Zubi Group and Save the Children against Child Marriage

At Zubi Group, our social responsibility extends beyond environmental initiatives. That is why we are proud to share our partnership with Save the Children, an organization dedicated to combating child marriage and empowering women and girls around the world.

Thanks to our donations, totaling €1,240, we have made a significant impact on the education of underprivileged girls. The figures speak for themselves, reflecting Zubi Group’s commitment to a fairer and more equal future.

  • Schooling 41 Girls for a Month: We have contributed to the education of 41 girls, giving them the opportunity to learn and grow.
  • Covering Full School Year for 4.6 Girls: Our support has covered the full school year for 4.6 girls, paving the way to a brighter future.

The connection between forced marriages and poverty is undeniable. In fact, every 7 seconds a girl under the age of 15 is forced into marriage. There is an urgent need to address the underlying causes of the practice of child marriage, highlighting the close relationship between poor socioeconomic conditions and this violation of fundamental human rights.

At Zubi Group, we believe in the transformative power of education and awareness to drive social change, as we believe that true transformation comes from tackling challenges at their foundations. Therefore, in our ongoing commitment to social responsibility, we have channeled our resources, energy and enthusiasm towards collaboration with Save the Children. On the eve of the holiday season, the festive spirit permeates every corner and creates an atmosphere of anticipation and joy.
